Each week the spelling homework follows this routine:
Monday Night:
Write the spelling words in color on note cards. Use pencil or blue marker for consonants and red pen or marker for vowels. Notice how the vowels relate to the syllables.
Tuesday Night:
Look at the shapes of the words and fill in the shape puzzle for the basic words.
Wednesday Night:
Alphabetize the word list including the challenge words. Use your notecards to arrange the words in order before writing them on notebook paper. List the words in two columns with a space between each number.
Thursday Night:
Take a practice test. The final test is in short sentences with words from previous lessons. You can take a practice word list test or you can make up short sentences.
The spelling test is Friday in class. The test will come home Friday night and should be signed and returned Monday morning.
