     Welcome to the new 2007-2008 school year. We are off to a great start in sixth grade. I will be adding information to our class page as the year progresses. I will also post homework so that students can verify that they have completed all of their assignments. They will also be able to keep track of ongoing projects that they will be woking on.

     This year in the sixth grade I will be teaching the following subjects:religion, history, english, literature, and math. Ms.Moran will teach science, Mr. Willoughby teaches computer, Senora Funk teaches Spanish, and Mrs. Freshci teaches P.E.. The students will be studying the following in each of the areas that I teach.

     Religion: In religion we will be studying the Old Testament, liturgical calendar, and how to live our lives as active Catholic christians.

     History: In history we will be studying ancient history. Specifically, the paeolithic era, Mesopotamia, China, India, Egypt, Greece, and the rise of Rome. Its a bit like taking a ride on "Its a Small World". The students will also write a research paper on a nation in the second half of the year.

     English: We will study spelling, vocbulary, and the parts of speech. We will also be working on becoming better writers.

     Literature: In literature will will be exploring the different genres in literature. We will also read and analyze several novels.
