Welcome to Second Grade! I am so very happy to see all of you and wish to welcome our new families to our class, school, and community! Welcome everyone! We have jumped right into our new school year and are really ready to make the transition as second graders. Our Theme for the year is "Up, Up and Away to the Land of Learning". As we travel the world learning about habitats/biomes, families and cultures, we will be following the standards for all academic areas.

As you are all aware, this year is extremely important because the children will be preparing for their next Sacraments; Reconciliation and Holy Communion. I cannnot stress enough how much it means for them to attend Mass every weekend with the rest of our parish community. You, as the main adult figure in their lives and formation, along with our school and community, teach our children through our actions. If our actions tell of putting the Lord first in our life through participation in the Mass and living out of our discipleship, the message will be received. We will continue to teach our children that Jesus is the greatest gift given to us by God and that the Eucharist and our relationship with the Lord is what gives us strength to continue. Therefore, it is my hope and my prayer for each of our families this year to put the Lord first, and together we can build up the Kingdom of God here on earth.
