On Thursday, October 9th, the First Grade class visited Whole Foods Market. Our class learned about taking care of the earth, eating healthy foods, sustainable farming and treating our farm animals well. Along the way, we got to try some rather tasty foods like organic oranges, crab and apple slices with honey-roasted peanut butter... but we had the most fun enjoying some yummy Whole Foods pizza when we were done!
Our class meets Hadley.
We learn why Organic food is important to the earth and healthy for our bodies.
We met Louie (better known as "Crab Louie").

If you were a chicken, would you want to live in a little cramped cage all day? We learned that all of the eggs in Whole Foods come from "Free Range" Chickens who get to roam around instead of being cooped up.

Whole Foods helps to take care of the environment by composting everything that leaves their store that was "once alive".

Our tour concluded with a PIZZA PARTY!!...
Yummy!!
Thanks so much to Hadley Larson of Whole Foods Markets who took us on
our tour and taught us some valuable lessons! Thanks, also to all the
parents who joined us that day.
