Teddy Bear Picnic is a fun day in September where your child may bring their favorite teddy to school and sit with them at our fun picnic!  In science, we spend the entire month of September studying bears.  We learn about their habitat, their diet,...etc.  Our picnic is a fun way to end our bear unit!

The School Christmas Program is in Demember!

The Chinese Luncheon occurs at the end our our China Unit which is usually in January.  This is a fun lunch where parents bring in favorite dishes and the children sample all of the wonderful food that China has to offer. 

The Kindergarten 100th Day of school party is in February!!  We have been counting everyday....we deserve a party!!!

In March/April the Kindergarten children donate items and make Easter Baskets for Catholic Charities!

Our annual Mother's Day Tea is held in May!  It is a special time for kindergarten children to serve their mom cookies and tea!!

Sharing

      Our daily curriculum is very full and we do not include a formal “sharing time”.  We provide many opportunities to “share” ourselves, families, and feelings in our Community Circle.  We also have many special projects that are shared in class. 

     Toys are very distracting in the classroom and should be kept at home.  We allow the children to share one toy (or gift) on or after their birthday as part of their birthday celebration.  We have  special sharing of a Christmas gift when we return from Christmas vacation. 

     On Fridays, we welcome items from nature, science, books, or multicultural materials related to areas we are studying in class.

Birthdays

      We want to make every child’s birthday special and meaningful in our classroom.  Your child will be featured and celebrated in many ways in the classroom on his/her birthday.  If you would like to bring treats please bring them in the morning before school.  Don't worry summer birthdays are celebrated on the last day of school!

Your child may bring ONE of his/her birthday gifts to school to share on or shortly after his/her birthday.
