We are proud to recognize our graduating 8th grade students with many scholarship and award opportunities highlighting their strengths in academics and service.

St. Apollinaris School Scholarships

Father Michael Cleary Scholarship
Awarded to a St. A's Student whose life has reflected Catholic values, and has developed as an active Catholic, a life-long learner, an effective communicator, and a responsible, ethical and caring citizen.

Principal's Scholarship
Awarded to a student who exhibits leadership qualities, displays excellence in conduct and academic standards, and demonstrates on-going particiapation in curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Art Choquette Scholarship
These awards are presented to those students who demonstrate good citizenship, academic excellence and are active Catholics in their community.

Sabina Bowman Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a deserving student who writes a compelling essay on a person who had significant influence on their life.

St. Apollinaris Men's Club Scholarship
Presented to students who have exceeded their 7th and 8th grade service hour requirements, and whose parents have contributed service hours with the parish, this scholarship is open to boys and girls who have been accepted to a Catholic High School.

St. Apollinaris Mercy Award

Given to graduates who have participated in the sports program for at least three years and have demonstrated themselves as above average in academic and conduct standards.

Religious Studies Award
Recognizing those students who scored in the 80th percentile or above on the National Catholic Education Association test.

Mathematics Awards
Given for outstanding achievement in Math League Algebra I and 8th Grade Math Contest

National 7th - 8th Grade Language Arts Awards
Given for outstanding achievment in the Language Arts League contest.

Christian Service Award
Presented to students who complete 24 hours of service to Church, School and Community.

Christian Spirit Award
Presented to students who have demonstrated outstanding Christian development during their years at St. A's. Recognized by their teachers for the growing integrity and responsibility; and by their peers for developing in the areas of initiative, cooperation and friendship.

Academic Decathlon Award
Recognizing those 8th graders who represented the school on the Academic Decathlon Team.

Junior Traffic Patrol
Awarded to those students who have maintained exemplary conduct records which allows them to be considered for the patrol, and who have served for two or more full years.

Altar Service Award
Recognized for consistant and faith-filled service.

Outstanding Service in Choir Award
Selected recipients will have been dedicated, active and contributing choir members for mulitple years, exhibiting a leadership role in the choir.

Recipients have been active and contributing choir members.

Academic Improvement Award
Honoring students who have demonstrated a genuine commitment to academic progress and improvement during their eighth grade year.

Justin Siena High School Scholarships

Justin Siena Scholarship
Awarded to one student each year graduating from Catholic elementary schools.

Burns Foundation - George King Scholarship
Awarded to an entering student with particular merit in co-curricular activities.

Goodsell Scholarship

Sister Carol and Brother Bede Scholarship

Presidential Academic Excellence Award

Presented to those students who have maintained 3.5 or higher grade point averages and scored in the 85th percentile or higher on achievement tests since fourth grade. This Academic Excellence Award is accompanied by a letter from President Barack Obama.
