2020-2021 School Year Plans during COVID19

Dear St. A’s families,

Attached (link below) you will find our Return to Campus Plan for our reopening on August 12th. I know that the COVID-19 pandemic is very fluid and at times changes minute to minute. If we should have to move into a different part of our Plan, you will be notified immediately. While our committee did its best to address our reopening, I recognize that some of your questions may not be answered, so please do not hesitate to reach out to myself, our Vice-Principal, or our office staff. Thank you again to the committee who helped in giving valuable input to this plan.

Anything related to COVID-19 cases or possible cases will all be run through our Napa County Public Health Department and they will determine the cause of action. I pray that your families are all healthy and well and I look forward to seeing your child back at St. A’s. Our students have truly been missed.

Blessings,

Mrs. Olivia Brazil, Principal

UPDATE: July 17, 2020

Dear St. A’s families,

Praying that you and your family are well. I realize that the anticipated announcement from our governor could put us all into a tailspin after you just received our Return-to-Campus plan yesterday. If the governor announces that all schools must begin school in distance-learning, does that mean St. A’s will also? I am not positive. I would like to have this answer as much as you would. Dr. Relucio, the Napa County Public Health Officer will be calling together a meeting for the superintendents and private school principals next week. I will be out of town, but will make sure to be conferenced in, and will make sure a message gets sent out to you, once I have definitive answers.

One item that we were told this morning was that while counties are in the red on the watch list, schools must distance-learn until the county has been off of the list for 14 days. Because this is a State mandate, this would apply to our school. Could this mean that we just need to push our start date back by one week and then begin under Plan A, if we are cleared from the list at the end of the month? Again, I don’t know. We could find ourselves where we all began in March, thinking our country was just going to shut down for a few weeks and then be business as usual. I know you all must be as flustered as I am. Please keep the faith that we will be together soon on campus. Please pray for an end to this and for the many families this is affecting on varying levels.

Please also know that our teachers are prepared to deliver a high-quality Catholic education under any circumstance. As soon as we know how we are able to serve you I will communicate with you and I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during these very difficult circumstances. As mentioned yesterday the fluidity of this situation is ever changing and I thank you for your continued support.

Blessings,

Mrs. Olivia Brazil, Principal
