Parents that are interested in coaching can also sign-up in the office . Games start after Volleyball season concludes in mid-October 5th and 6th grade teams will begin practice in late December, but please register in the coming week for these grades as well. Volleyball News

Volleyball rolls into its third week of play with many victories! And – with great team play by every SA team!

The 5th Grade girls lost their first match against St. Mary’s, but came right back and won in 3 games against St. John’s Healdsburg. The big news for this group is that every girl got their serve over!

The 6th grade girls again fought hard in both games, but lost. Their coach, Valerie Prince, said the girls are building to their first victory with great teamwork.

Our 7th grade girls used all their skills this Saturday, serving some impossible to return overhands, sets and hard hits over the net. Teamwork and communication were key in playing two difficult opponents. Coach Sheila Peace said “they nearly got into a tie-breaker game with St. Rose, and play to win on every point. Way to keep fighting 7th grade girls!”

8th grade girls came so close in their first match, losing by only 2 points. They rallied right back, winning their second match against Saint Mary’s. The girls are covering the court very well, and expect many victories to come!

The 7th grade boys are so proud to have continued their winning streak with 2 victories, making them undefeated at 5-0! They are doing well at the net, and staying in every play.

Our Spotlight team is 5th/6th grade boys. This team has had the least amount of practice because the league did not confirm there would be teams for this age group to play against until very late. The set of players came together, and two very wonderful parents stepped in to coach last minute – Sherill Richied & Kathy Newman – and they have never looked back!

On Saturday, they worked hard through their first match against Blue Oak, losing the match in 3 well-played games . They fired back up, though, and won their next match in 3 games vs. Saint Helena. They showed great improvement in serving, calling the ball and backing each other up. Congratulations Boys!
